What the price includes
Every session is all-inclusive: Kim arrives with the professional massage table, fresh linens, oils and lotions, and soft music if you like. She sets up, breaks down, and travels to you anywhere in her regular North Alabama service area — Huntsville, Madison, Hazel Green, Meridianville, New Market, Toney, and Monrovia — at no extra charge.
The only thing you provide is a quiet room with space for the table. Questions before you book? Call (256) 426-5505.
Mobile vs. spa pricing — where the money goes
A spa's price covers the building, the front desk, and the waiting room. A mobile therapist's price covers travel and setup instead. Many mobile services add a $20–$50 premium per visit for that convenience — and app-based massage marketplaces often run well past $150 an hour once fees are added.
Kim prices her sessions in line with what local spas charge for the massage itself. You trade the waiting room for your own living room, and the drive home for a nap. See available times.
"What is it called when the massage therapist comes to you?"
It goes by a few names — mobile massage, in-home massage, or a house-call massage. They all mean the same thing: a licensed massage therapist brings the full spa experience to your home. It's the same professional session you'd get on a spa table — Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, or prenatal — minus the commute.
Tipping a mobile massage therapist
Same etiquette as a spa: 15–20% is customary if you'd like to tip, and cash, check, or adding it when you pay all work. But with a solo therapist like Kim, the listed rate is the real price — tips are genuinely appreciated, never assumed, and never affect the quality of your next session.
Cost questions
Asked all the time
How much does it cost to have a masseuse come to your home?
With Gentle Hands, a 60-minute in-home session runs $70–$100 depending on the service — prenatal starts at $70, Swedish is $85, and deep tissue or hot stone is $100. That price includes travel, the professional table, linens, and setup. Nationally, mobile massage often costs $100–$200 or more per hour, especially through app-based marketplaces.
What is the going rate for mobile massage?
Most mobile therapists charge a premium of $20–$50 over spa prices to cover travel and setup time. Kim keeps her rates in line with what local spas charge for the massage alone — the trip to your door is built in, not added on.
Is mobile massage more expensive than going to a spa?
Not with Gentle Hands. Spas price in their building, front desk, and amenities; a mobile therapist prices in travel and setup instead. The line items differ but the totals land in the same range — except one of them ends with you already home, relaxed, with no drive.
How much should I tip for a $100 massage?
The customary range is 15–20%, so $15–$20 on a $100 session. Tips are always appreciated and never expected — the rate you book is the rate Kim is happy with.
Are there travel fees or other add-ons?
No. The rates listed are what you pay — travel within Kim’s regular North Alabama service area, table, fresh linens, oils, and setup are all included. If you live outside her usual area, just ask; if she can make the trip work, she’ll tell you up front what it would cost.
Do longer sessions cost less per minute?
Yes. A 90-minute Swedish session is $130 (about $1.44/min) versus $85 for 60 minutes (about $1.42/min at the start, but the longer session spreads the setup over more massage). Most regulars find 90 minutes is the sweet spot for full-body work with real focus time on problem areas.
